Budget Car Rental

This service is terrible. We changed our drop off location from Colorado Springs to Denver and they charged us $700 dollars more

Our flight was delayed and my original rental with Dollar could not be fulfilled because no counter attendants were working at 2am. Budget was the only car rental service with an attendant still present. He was very friendly, threw my corporate discount on my rental, and got me out the door quick in a very nice car. He dealt with a homeless woman coming into the airport yelling about racism with the utmost professionalism and kindness. The return process was easy, and I got my receipt within minutes.

This budget car rental location was home to the absolute best and most amazing customer service I have ever received. The rep behind the counter, James, has surely earned a spot next to the big man upstairs. After a long day of nightmare flights and delays, my family gets to the airport to find all the other car rental places closed for the night, even one we had a reservation with that wouldnt answer their phone all night leading up to arrival. However, this godsend of a man at Budget heard of the flight delay situation and was the only one to decide to stay late and help those in need. I dont know if budget itself is worthy of an employee of this standard but I know my family and others that needed a last minute rental truly appreciated that he was willing to go above and beyond! Thank you a thousand times over, if anyone chooses another rental place at the Colorado Springs airport, it will be your loss!

There are both pluses and minuses in this rental. I rented a compact car and they upgraded me to a mini van (they were out of compact) so I guess that is a plus. However, the minivan was missing an entire row of seats, had maintenance warnings flashing on dash including tire pressure. That wasnt the worst of it though, Seems as budget has some new scam to increase profits. When I received the vehicle I did NOT receive any paperwork just the key. OK I can live with that, I started the vehicle checked the gas (which showed full) and took off. Right before returning the vehicle I filled it up at the gas station and put as much gas as it would take (work is paying) drove the 7 miles to the rental return, when the lady was checking it in she noted that I returned it full as it indicated on the dash and asked if she could email the receipt instead of printing it. I said ok and went to catch my flight. I am looking over the receipt today and I see that it shows the vehicle supposedly had 18.0 gallons when I checked it out and only 17.1 gallons when I returned it. they then charged me $9.99 / gallon for .9 gallons of gas. I would like to know how they came up with those numbers as the dash reading was exactly the same and it would not hold any more gas. It was only 7 miles after that so This seems like a scam to try and bring in more profit and I will be reporting it to the proper authorities as soon as I figure out who that is. Avoid Budget if you dont want to get scammed.
