Jane A. Irvine, MA LPC NCC

Jane is a perfectly nice person, but I found her assessment to be very weak. She made several unsubstantiated conclusions and didn't really get to the heart of the matter in her report. She delayed the report for months and it cost me three times more than she estimated. I would not recommend using her.

Mandatory reporting? What a joke, I watched Jane interview my underage child to tell a first hand account of how my spouse encouraged drug use. Totally blew off, completely contradicts everything in her book. Only cares to shovel through process and collect money. If you care about the actual wellfare of your children stay as far away as possible. If you are corrupt as she is you will be in great hands.

Jane seemed like an ethical therapist initially. However, she recommended to the court a parenting class to our judge, despite the fact she had never met me, nor had she read ANY of our correspondence or records. Our previous PC/DM had clarified I had taken a private parenting class much more intensive than the one Ms. Irvine recommended to the judge when she stated she could not be our PC/DM and that my ex-husband had taken only a quick 4-hour parenting class. My class had been private (and expensive and almost three times the amount of hours of the one Ms. Irvine recommended). Ms. Irvine never let the judge know she had no basis in fact to demand I take the course and the result was extremely detrimental to the children and me. Ms. Irvine has a good soul, but she does not review her actions and harms families as a result. Please be very careful if you are assigned to Ms. Irvine.

Jane Irvine focuses her treatment solely on the targeted parent. If you question her methods or actions she becomes very defensive. My family situation became much worse during the course of her treatment, which she eventually quit on, much to the surprise of all the other (more qualified) mental health professionals involved in my case. Jane does not have the right tools or attitude to handle cases of severe alienation, and her methods do not address the pathology of the alienating parent.
