Zimmerman Alan H

Dr. Zimmerman is the best counselor I've ever seen bar none. He's grounded, articulate, supportive and respectful in his approach to therapy and has been nothing but a positive influence on me since my adolescence. He isn't quick to categorize people, shirking dogma and providing a refreshingly human take on mental health and treatment. I recommend him for anyone looking to talk to someone.

Dr. Zimmerman was a gem of a psychiatrist. He was immensely beneficial to my well being during the period that we worked together (18-19yrs old). The relationship between psychiatrist and patient is like any other, some work and some dont. However, I always felt cared about and respected while working with Dr. Z and I would, without hesitation recommend his practice.

This photo of a man in a suit is not Alan Zimmerman. I accompanied my child to an initial visit with this therapist. The man was dismissive about and belittling of the seriousness of my childs reasons for wanting to see him. Zimmermans style of counseling is aggressive in questioning; bullying and controlling of conversations; dismissive of concerns, comments and feelings; judgmental of what we were saying; and quick diagnoses and labeling with only a few pieces of information. Though his style may be appealing to some, it can be harmful to others.
