We worked with Huili and Ross of Tumu Studio in 2021 - 2022 on a kitchen remodel. Our new kitchen is amazing and we highly recommend Tumu Studio. Huili and Ross took the time to understand both our vision and the actualities of how we use the space. The result is a beautiful kitchen that belongs in a design magazine and also a functional kitchen that makes our lives easier and better. The entire experience exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely work with Tumu on future projects.

Ross and Huili worked with us on a redesign of our master closet area. They transformed a skinny reach-in and odd-shaped walk-in into three sizable, highly functional closets, hidden by a visual stunner of a slat wall that adds beauty to our bedroom. They immediately got our esthetic and enhanced and refined our vision through ongoing visual communications. Highly professional. Impeccable taste. Creative and solution-oriented. They are a great team and I would be delighted to work with them again in the future.

My wife and I own a single family home in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago. In 2022, we hired Tumu Studio to conceptualize, design and prepare for bid a construction an extensive gut renovation of the kitchen, living room and main bathroom of our home. This was our first time pursuing a project of this scale and complexity and we couldn't have been happier with the expertise and guidance we received through every step. From our very first conversations we asked for them to be our thought partners by learning our specific design vision and making it a reality. They challenged us to think outside the box, worked through a number of different iterations and ultimately landed on a design that is timeless. Tumu was able to not only implement on our design preferences, but they took it to the next level by educating us on unique design features to ensure that our home avoided temporary trends. Additionally, Tumu worked with us on modifying our architectural drawings as needed to consider our project budget. We highly recommend Tumus ability to produce an amazing project that will suit the needs of our family for many years!

Tumu Studio brings their world-class, intuitive design expertise and artistry to every project. Prior to hiring them to design our dream space, I was familiar with their work -- I've been in the commercial, landmark, and luxury residential spaces they designed and the common thread was a feeling of comfort and calm. They have this remarkable ability to bring the most out of a space and make those in it feel at ease. Working with them on our dream opening of our floor plan to accommodate a larger kitchen and custom living / work-at-home space was one of the most enjoyable creative partnerships of my life. First, Tumu Studio's partners Ross and Huili took the time to study our ideal space utility. They helped us map out the functionality of our kitchen, dining, gathering, congregating, living, working space so that they could redesign the space to meet our family's lifestyle. For the aesthetic feel, working with them in mood boards and communicating in the abstract language of artists through intangibles such as mood and vibe -- and finding ways to make that tangible -- was creatively thrilling and Huili and Ross made it so accessible and easy for us to do. Lastly, their taste is exquisite. They have an impeccable knack for being able to style a space suited to the client -- to make the client's space look and feel its best. They're savvy and adaptable, able to balance the delicate nuances of form and function -- all while on a budget. They're able to slide budgets to accommodate savings and splurges based on client priorities, and make anything work. Fun, friendly, accommodating, thoughtful, easy to work with and brilliantly professional -- I loved working with them and have been recommending them to everyone I know.

Ross & Huili at Tumu Studio were amazing to work with on the gut rehab of our house in Chicago. We liked transitional style homes. Tumu Studio pushed us to the more modern end of the transitional spectrum, and we love how it turned out! They have an extremely high attention to detail and seek perfection in all their design and architecture work. I would highly recommend working with this team!
