Attended my first service on 7/3/22 and the message was great! Everybody was friendly for the most part. What bothered me was at the end of service I asked a guy, Bryan, to pray for me. After he prayed for me we had a difference in opinion on a TRIVIAL matter. Instead of allowing us to have our differences Bryan FOLLOWED me THROUGHOUT the church all the way outside badgering me about how I was wrong. I lost my temper and gave him a few choice words. In my defense I asked him for space and to leave me alone, yet he did not respect my request. I'm going through some things and was looking for a church family to carry help me through, but never mind. I'll find support elsewhere

I've been multiple times since 2018. I've tried two small groups. I've never been greeted. I tried meeting with a pastor of a bible study group but was ignored multiple times. FlatIrons Aurora is a trip to hell and back. Single people should avoid FlatIrons church its not for them. especially over 40.

*Jennifer Cooper's little "Handmaid's Tale" review is priceless!*. But you do you, girl. Going to this church reminded me that I need to take Pastor Jim's advice and go to another church. Specifically one that isn't so heavy on male authority. I went to their location up in Longmont a few months ago and thought it had a refreshing tone to it although a little heavy on the machismo. Well, today's sermon was off the chain with that and more. It started off with the on-location pastor joking about his workouts, how big his arms were going to get and how he mocked another man in the church for being smaller than him (and everyone should also email this person and let him know the same). Hahaha, ok awkward and what does this have to do with, you know, spirituality? Incredibly odd & weird way to start a service, to say the least. Then Pastor Jim came on remotely from Longmont. He spent approximately 15-20 minutes talking about the 5 tenets of the church, one of which how the Bible is authority in this church. He also mentioned several times that if this isn't the church for you, no harm no foul, but don't stick around (PS. I'm DEFINITELY taking his advice). By about minute 40, the sermon basically became a VERY long winded commercial for people to donate so they could grow their church bigger. A few other choice & alarming comments/points: The Pastor made a comment about how men come up to him and let him know they appreciate that he doesn't act like a "kitty cat" - he also mentioned something about "wusses", how he is not and that the men in the church seem to appreciate it. The Pastor was also QUITE clear about how this church follows the Bible very closely. But then mentions at the end of his sermon that, if this church is doing well (ie: gets more locations & donations), there will be more benefits in the community, things will be better and, among other things, perhaps women will have less abortions. WOW. This organization borders on sexist more than any I've seen in a while. And not that they can necessarily control it but I saw very few POC in attendance. And absolutely NO women or POC in any place of authority or leadership.
