Update: So I was finally able to get a hold of them! Once I got through, they were pretty prompt in getting people scheduled to have them check out our issues (they have read this review). Again, this home belongs to a family member, and speaking on his behalf. This was a model home when purchased. When the Guy's flooring expert came by, he said the floors are normal and is caused by low humidity. Recommendation is 45%... Checked the manufacturers website as well and confirmed at 45%. Funny how a model home (he didn't choose any features, just came as is), without a humidifier installed, uses red oak that requires such high humidity levels in Colorado. Nothing they can do regarding the gaps, unfortunately. They said it'll take 12 months with the right humidity levels to go back to "normal" without spacing in the floors. They also said that in order for manufacturer to consider it defective, you need spacing where a quarter can fit and move side to side... so I guess gaps where a penny can almost fall through is "normal" with low humidity. Floors do look pretty terrible since you see all the dark outlines from the spacing. Might decide to remove these floors for him and get something more suitable for lower humidity levels. My only option is to either keep the floors as is (or replace them with our own budget) or install a humidifier, wait 12 months, and see if floors go back to normal - even then, warranty might not cover it since it's almost a year already, and it will take another 12 months for it to expand back. They have a year warranty on floors, and the year is almost up. It's unfortunate that the family member who lives here didn't know there was warranty the first time he moved in. Floors looked the same back towards September of last year (2018). It was his fault for not acting promptly on this. Increased review since the customer service was prompt. not a 5 star since floors obviously don't look like a model home, but maybe in 12 months I'll say something different with 45% humidity level in the house. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original review: This town home belongs to a family member, and speaking on their behalf. The home in general is nice. However, a big part of my issue is the main hardwood floor as it has so many spaces between each piece of hardwood... (floor is probably around 1000 sq. ft). One of the kitchen cabinet door is warped, but even that I can live with. Looking at the statement, they charged over $6,000 for these hardwood floors (these were the original flooring done by CalAtlantic). I've tried to call them multiple times for many days. Some days I've tried to call at least once per hour (10am-6pm)! Left a couple voice messages, still no reply. Every time I call it says... "we are currently helping another customer" which is not likely, or I am very unlucky and always call when someone else is working with them. I may have to find a time to drive over to their office, as they do not answer their phones (I don't live there currently - family member's place). Email is also a no go, weeks without a single reply. I'm hoping there is some warranty still on these floors, as these look like they were done in a rush or by an amateur. Some areas can fit a quarter in between the hardwood flooring. Poor quality control... Just take a look at the pictures - I took a couple dozen pictures but concluded that it's the entire flooring area that has spaces everywhere. Talking to professionals, they said that this was possibly done in a rush (potentially, they didn't have the wood sit in the house for a week or two in order for the wood to acclimate to the humidity levels in the house) and told us to check for warranty on the flooring first before trying to get them fixed by someone else. The bad thing is that we have to be super careful to not spill anything on these floors... crumbs, etc. all tend to slip in there and we have to vacuum them out if possible. Any spills on wood floors will absorb it in the cracks since we can't clean that up
