As a retired Native American. I dont have the dental coverage I had with the telephone company. However I had an issue with my bridge come loose on back tooth. Which needed attention and recemented down. I was told the appoint would be 3 and half months. I called back explained the front tooth holding the fridge is now loose and wiggling. I still cant get into dentist. After my other side crown fell off I said I cant wait because my tooth will deteriorate without the crown. 2 days later that tooth chipped. I called and said I need to know who to talk to about going to another dentist and billing the tribe. The next day I was called and advised I could be seen the next day. However it was too late all my bottom teeth are gone are roots need extracted. But no offer of replacing with implants or dentures. I cant chew without any bottom teeth. This is not acceptable dental care. Its frustrating that I have lost my teeth because I cant get a dental appointment when emergency arise. It would have literally taken 15 minutes to fix. I feel that the Native American is funded for dental care but not getting what they need. Also Im told I have to apply for medical. Which is just going to come after my or my property for repayment. When its already funded by millions of government grants and funding. use the funds for what they are for. Take care of your elders

The doctors I've seen there, DO NOT CARE ABOUT CRONIC PAIN. THEY COULD CARE LESS. BUT IF YOU CALL THE CALIFORNIA STATE MEDICAL BOARD, THEY WILL HELP YOU

Dental appointments are extremely distant apart. I missed my appointment and have to wait 6 months but Im supposed to be every 3 months bc Im a California Indian and its supposed to be helping us. I guess theres no staff or only one person for the entire county including all Indians. Im contacting the main office of IHS to find out why this is ok and no help is being requested to help California Indians according to the bylaws.
