Got in for the last weekend opened for the season and there was only 1 other camper.self registration bring cash. 4×4 required.air down. Stock 4 runner made it but I wish I had a lift prior to this trip. Crossed 1 river. Campground has trash bins and outside toilets. No running water. Experienced a windy afternoon, warm night and a very hot morning. Bring a lot of water and ice. Bring a first aid. Jumping cactus and thorn bushes are not fun. Bring extra supplies. A vehicle broke down in a narrow rocky climb and path was blocked off for a long time. Bring something to make shade with. Very good place for start gazing

Great secluded primitive campground in a boulder covered valley. You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle, it takes about 30 minutes off roading, creek crossing plus some rock crawling through the rock garden to reach the campground. Some sites have a metal fire ring which are the only sites youre allowed to have a fire. If the sites are all taken you can pretty much pitch a tent wherever you want. There are some beautiful trails to hike, we hiked along a creek up to a small tree lined waterfall. Maybe not the best for young ones as we crawled over a lot of boulders to get there. I also found a scorpion under my tent as I was packing up so shake your stuff out when packing!

A beautiful place, but there were some noisy people this time. I think that a campground this isolated should be a quiet place of reflection. Instead we got a bunch of young people parked behind the closed area signs and partying. Still beautiful and worth visiting.

Stunning! Had the best spot--the last one in the canyon at the trailhead. Clean, quiet and breathtaking views. Hiked to a waterfall and the kids had a blast. Will definitely come back.
