Jerry Gelbart, MD

I would not suggest any human to see this man. I was prescribed a medication by him that very well may have encouraged enough suicidal thoughts that I actually made an attempt. When I was in the hospital, I tried to speak with him about how that drug could have affected me and what to do. He said he was unable to give me professional advice, and told me to make an appointment with him. Meanwhile, my therapist called me the moment I told her what was happening on a 30+ min courtesy call on a Sunday, because she's a compassionate human being who cares about her clients and people's well being unlike Jerry Gelbart. Even after being discharged from the hospital he still wouldn't talk briefly on the phone without making an appointment. I was leaving the area two days after being discharged, and you'd think this would be a circumstance when he could allow me to make a last minute, emergency appointment IN PERSON. But this was not the case. Overall, I got the feeling that Gelbart is really not interested in a person's wellbeing at all and would NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO HIM.

Dr Gelbart is a caring man who listens well and offers thoughtful suggestions.
