What a nightmare. My wife scheduled an MRI and specifically told them she needed a sedative to do this procedure based on a bad experience in the past. They told her to arrive 30 minutes earlier to receive the sedative. Which she did. After waiting 30 minutes in the waiting area they told her she could not receive the sedative! WTF! This place absolutely is the worst....Find another healthcare provider.

Within the last year I moved from Maryland to Walnut Creek. I knew that finding a family doctor was going to be challenging as most places including this office were not accepting new patients. Luckily, when I called this office, I was referred to Karishma Bhardwaj, Nurse Practitioner. I made an appointment and attended. Karishma patiently listened to me as I explained all the problems I have been experiencing. She spent ample time with me identifying the next steps including ordering several tests and procedures in order to obtain the information necessary to identify my appropriate diagnosis. Without her due diligence, a major health concern would not have been identified and my life would have been in great danger. I am extremely grateful to have selected Karishma as my medical professional in California.

I have been using my doctor for over 20 years. A while ago she switched to John Muir on Shadelands Dr and the experience has been subpar. Finally on my last visit they almost turned me away. I was going in for my annual physical but had been dealing with some light allergy issues. Receptionist asked if I was experiencing sore throat, etc (Covid questions). I should have lied but instead told her about my sore throat and cough but tried assuring her that I had just had a Covid test that was negative and it was nothing. The dr did go ahead and saw me but apologized for the front desk and explained that they weren't currently seeing "sick" people. She said lots were dealing with extra allergies due to being home so much. Fast forward to my bill. $$$$$ for an annual physical. I called my I suranné company and they said that 1) I wasn't billed for an annual physical but was treated for allergies which isn't preventive care and more money and 2) my doctor doesn't accept my insurance plan. I called John Muir and they pretty much agreed and said that I owe the $$$$$. I wish instead of being so fixated on my allergies when I checked in that they would have looked at my insurance card and informed me then that my insurance wasn't taken. I could have tried figuring something else out. But no mention at all of the unaccepted insurance or estimated cost of visit. And then the matter of fact disclosure that yep I owe $$$$$ so sick it up and pay was upsetting. Overall a very unpleasant experience especially considering that I have always loved my doctor and used to think John Muir was a good company. I will not be using John Muir Network again. Beware and double checking pricing before you use them.
