What an incredible place for pets to get adopted. Beautiful, clean, nice gift shop and soon to have grooming! They also have a veterans assistance program for service dogs. Lovely gardens!

These people are the most judgemental, self serving, act like they are doing the world a favor type (well sorry just one in particular). They don't help the community out like when Tony Larussa had his people actually in charge of it. He had compassion and a heart, now the bottom line is their all mighty dollar, im sure that's what it is. When you have a personality clash usually you can talk with someone else but this person won't allow it, she is the almighty and what she says goes. She made up absolute lies, said things that were completely untrue (but in her mind maybe they were but I have proff what was said was through text) I can't even speak to anyone else. The one person who truly knows is not with them anymore. So I have no choice but stop dealing with the same people I've been with since the early 90's because of one person with a God complex in a place that is supposed to have compassion and did for many many years until she came aboard 3 years ago. So sad that someone who is disabled and can't get around can't get help for her deceased child cat because of one person. I even told her I would probably need to surrender the cat because i couldn't care for it properly and she didn't care at all. How is that for community service and compassion? Please don't donate to people like this, put your dollars and donations somewhere they will truly matter. I'm sure the adoption side of things are very helpful (at least I would pray that they are) but don't rely on the food share program to help in your time of need especially with this person in charge of that program

Such a wonderful place! I adopted my wonderful cat,Tessa, from them 12 years ago and have loved that little fur ball every second. Careful matches between adopters and pets, very helpful behavior advice, clean environment and friendly staff, not to mention a great veterinarian team. We now live in Arizona but always support and follow this stellar rescue.

About
Joybound People & Pets (formerly ARF)
Joybound People & Pets, formerly the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), is committed to forming, supporting, elevating, and celebrating the human-animal bond through cat and dog rescue and adoption and services such as training and veterinary care, food and supply assistance, therapy and service-animal programs, and rich learning resources for all pet families. Headquartered in Walnut Creek, CA, our goal is for every adoption story to become a lasting tale of friendship, love, and mutual happiness. Dogs and cats aren't just animals people take care of. They take care of us too. When you bond with a pet, it is scientiï¬cally proven to make you healthier and happier. But you don't need a bunch of research to tell you that. You can feel it with every belly rub or every time they rush to greet you at the door. Creating that feeling has been our driving purpose for more than 30 years.
