They split the service into 3 parts so they could charge more money. Then they wouldn't come back to close up my ceiling after doing mold abatement. Knowing it is an insurance claim, they're harassing me for payment. Overall the abatement job was done very well.

Mike at Hometown was so great at getting to my house right after a pipe burst was detected and quickly locating and taking care of damaged floors and drywall. He worked really hard and got the damaged areas dried and cleaned up after mold was identified. Mikes communication & promptness were phenomenal. More like Hometown Ripoff! This company is a profiteering nightmare. We were desperate to get a tarp placed on our roof during the crazy rainstorms in early 2023 due to a minor roof leak we were trying to keep from becoming major until it could be repaired. It never occurred to us to ask about the price for the tarp on the phone because it was a tarp, not a roof repair. I thought maybe $1,000-2,000. Sure enough, they showed up quickly and placed a tarp on the roof, but little did we know that we would receive an invoice for $6,200!!! Yes, that's SIX THOUSAND two hundred US dollars. When I spoke with the accounts payable person, I let her know that we were quoted $3,500 when their employees arrived at our home, and that $6,200 was highway robbery and I considered them to be profiteers. She insisted that $6,200 was both fair and reasonable, but that they would honor the $3,500 price (in a tone that implied she was doing me a favor). That was bad enough, but it didn't even last. The first 20-30 mph winds we had after that ripped it right off the roof, so we called a roofing company to help us. They let us know that not only was the tarp bigger than necessary (pronounced more $$ for Hometown Ripoff), but It was incorrectly installed so that the wind would easily catch it and rip it off the roof. The roofer then replaced their tarp with his own, which only cost $1,500. That was more like the amount of money I was expecting for a roof tarp installation. He was shocked by the $6,200 price and even the reduced $3,500 price and agreed that it was profiteering. 0/10 would not recommend. Run far, far away. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
