DO NOT allow your kids to have any appointments with provider DARINKA SHAW. Took my son in for pain in his lower abdominal, she tested him for a UTI. Came back negative, and without any further testing, said he just had a summer flu. Something in me told me that wasnt the answer, I decided to reschedule with a different provider. Unfortunately, they didnt have any other appointments until 2 days later. I decided to schedule anyway considering that was the only time they had available. My sons health worsened within that time. I ended up calling 911. EMTs told me they were pretty sure there was an issue with his appendix. Took him to Valley Childrens, turns out he had appendicitis, and to make it even worse, his appendix had ruptured. My son was hospitalized for over a month. This couldve been something fatal. Its absurd to me that EMTs knew more than licensed provider, DARINKA SHAW ever did. I filed a grievance with my insurance, FAMILY HEALTHCARE AND PROVIDER DARINKA SHAW took 0 responsibility for the matter. Inclusively, tried to blame me for not attending his next scheduled appointment knowing well, that my son was hospitalized by the time his next appointment was scheduled for. I urge parents to please take your child elsewhere or schedule an appointment with anyone else but DARINKA SHAW. If she simply put more effort and advised us to take him to the hospital immediately, my sons appendix wouldve never ruptured. It was all a matter of time. Being first time parents, we had no clue. This provider shouldve known better. In my opinion, PROVIDER DARINKA SHAW, should have her license revoked.
