I am not a person who usually does google reviews, but the way that this place handles their business is extremely unprofessional and I feel that the only way this place has 4.1 stars is that these are the only individuals they let in due to the fact that they send people away as soon as they open their doors. I had made a call last week to see about making an appointment for my 17 year old daughter who has been struggling with her mental health lately. This is her first visit and I called to see how to get her started so she can be seen to talk to someone. I spoke with a young lady who stated that when you come for the first time it is first come first serve and to come early. She stated that Mondays could be busy and they only take walk ins Monday through Thursday. She stated that Thursday would be a better day to come in considering it's a light day and Mondays can be tight and they send people away. She also said it could take two to three hours to complete due to waiting and to bring snacks if we need. I also let her know she didn't need to be seen that day, I would just like to get the process started so I can make an appointment for her. She then said they opened at 8 so get there early. I thanked her and waited until Thursday. Thursday, which would be today, my daughter and I waited and there were about 7 individuals ahead of us. We arrived there at 7:45am. They then opened the doors at 8 am and everyone walked in and took their spots in line. Right away they then started calling out names to get the individuals that had "appointments." Then they started to get the ones in line. After three people, they then started saying they cannot take anymore walk ins. It was 8:03am. They still called me up and I asked to get my daughter set up. The gentlemen who spoke to me told me that they cannot take anymore today, so I had then asked, "Is there anyway I can just get her started so I can make an appointment for her later?" He then looks at me and tells me that they don't take "appointments." Although, when we first got there, they were calling people up for appointments. I even told the gentlemen, "So this is just a roll of the dice to get in when you have an issue and you have to be lucky enough to get in?" He then proceeded to tell me, "yeah, it kinda is." Needless to say, my daughter and many others were turned away within the first five minutes of them open. That was considered their light days. I could only imagine a busy day. They would probably send people away before they open. I felt so bad for everyone who got turned away. If they are understaffed or just unprofessional, I am not to sure, but I do know this is not a place to make you feel better when there is chance you can be turned away. After all that was done I came home and made a few calls and called the High Desert Psychological Services and spoke with Diana at the front desk. I explained to her that I needed to get my daughter seen and how to do to so. She did tell me there was a waiting list but she will see what she could do. She placed me on a brief hold and a few moments later, after giving her some information about my daughter, I had a text message with a link to fill out her paperwork and she has an appointment next week with a licensed provider. It was night and day how this was handled between the two companies. Which is why I felt compelled to write about this place. I wish they would have been more forthcoming with how fast they turn people away, because if they were truthful about that, I wouldn't have waited and found another place. I feel this place just wants to string you along or you need to camp out overnight to see someone. Don't waste your time here, because they will waste your time.
