I must say, I was not overly impressed. First off, I was not greeted upon entering the store. A middle-aged woman (I am assuming the owner) did not so much as even glance up. I said hello but was basically ignored. Next, I perused the racks and noted clothing meant to look higher quality, but overpriced for what it was. It was cute, but definitely overpriced by about 20-22%. I had two items in hand but I wasn't offered a room or wasn't acknowledged in any way. I guess she was too busy with her phone... She did, however, notice enough, and move enough, to tell a young boy not to touch the white clothing. At this point his mother, with her young daughter, come out of the dressing room with two or three items to purchase, and this woman suddenly turns on the charm! It was then that I decided to spend my money elsewhere. I believe in supporting local businesses, but not this one! I went downtown and spent $537 at another establishment, and they were quite lovely in that store. In fact, they were very nice and appreciative in ALL of the businesses on Main Street! Bypass Barefoot Boutique and do yourself a favor and head downtown.

Was so excited to go to Barefoot Boutique, and was almost immediately uncomfortable when entering. The store is beautifully set up. But the thrill ends there. The environment is not welcoming. The music was too loud. The owner kept watching us, and was very rude. I loved a blue sweater that was nearly $80, but even with 20% off. Could not even fathom spending money here after how uncomfortable the owner made me feel. The clothing was nothing special. Ive seen the blue and white striped button up a dozen times in other places trying to emulate coastal clothing. Its very Hampton chic. There were so many items I was interested in. But customer experience will 100% determine how I respond with my wallet. Will never go back.

I've been in the shop once, and it was a poor experience. Whoever was in the store obviously thought I didn't belong in there, and made it obvious. The product in there is cute, but over priced. I've heard a lot of chatter recently from other people having similar experiences while in the shop- staff making comments about people's financial status, their bodies, their children. I was hoping to try again, but definitely won't. Shop with caution.

Took my toddler son out in the rain to buy Christmas presents here. Was browsing around the store when the lady working here stopped me and asked if I was "just peeking or actually browsing to buy." Shocked, I said I was planning to buy Christmas presents. She told me "well your stroller's tires are wet and I'm by myself," gesturing at the floor. I'm not exactly sure how wet stroller tires are different than everyone else's wet feet, but I got the impression that she didn't want a stoller in the store in general. I told her oh, ok, that's a bummer, I guess I'll leave. Wanted to buy 3 items but I guess I'll take my business elsewhere. Store is not mom friendly. EDIT TO ADD: I took my DRY stroller out of my car, strolled approx 50ft across the parking lot in a light rain to your store. The parking lot is surrounded by SAND. You know the tires weren't muddy and you lied in your response and added that to make it sound worse. You only suggested I dry off my tires AFTER I had turned around to leave (realizing your behavior drove off a customer.) You were not at all polite. I did not storm, in fact I turned around and told you I was bummed because I had planned to buy 3 things, but instead would shop elsewhere. It was very Pretty Woman-esque. Unfortunately, you're the rude shopkeeper character in that movie. Also, do you regularly question your customers about whether they plan to buy anything? That's so rude! Additionally, I'm curious to know if you'd make a person in a wheelchair dry off their wheels as they come in from a light Ventura rain? I shared my experience with a local mom's group. They, too, were shocked at the rudeness I experienced while out shopping. However, as the post grew, many other moms shared their own experiences in your shop. One was told not to touch anything, just look. Another was asked if she could even afford anything in the store. One mom said you called her "big" 2 months after having her baby. Another said you followed her around the store acting like she was going to steal something. With all these awful similar stories I'm not surprised you doubled down on your abysmal customer service with your response to this review. Congratulations on converting an eager paying customer into someone who will forever share their terrible experience with the ridiculous woman from barefoot boutique and warn others to never shop there.
