I think it was the owner who helped us today, and she was an amazing business owner. She was so incredibly helpful and the ube upside down pie was exquisite!!! If you love custard or Filipino flavors - get down here!

Good coffee and cheesecake

The coffee was wonderful. I also got a variety of pastries and custards. The Lady Grey and vanilla custards were amazing, the bread pudding was very good (might be my fault as I tried it cold). The pastries, I would say, is were this establishment suffers. The coffee cake was great. The pandesals were nothing but bread. I got the strawberry cream cheese and cookie lady. Other than what was on top, it tasted like a solid biscuit. The beef and pork empanadas, while tasty, were almost all bread. I would say they had maybe a teaspoon or two of filling for a decent sized empanada. The place itself, while nice on the inside, suffers from most LA establishments. The place is small so seating is mainly outside. The transient presence is also off putting, again, not the establishment's fault. Again, however, inside was spotless and very clean and inviting. The place had wonderful staff. It is great for a flan/custard sweet tooth fix and to wash it down with great coffee, but the pastries aren't the greatest. I also did not try the other savory dishes like the quiches, so I cannot comment on them. Definitely worth trying at least once. Parking: shares a lot with a restaurant, laundromat, and a few other establishments, but it is not hard to find a spot. The location is mostly takeaway, so it is not overly crowded either.
