This is not what happened at all. Let me explain what ACTUALLY happened since you proceeded to flat out lie on Yelp and Google. You just attempted to sign up for a membership today and were told that prior to being allowed to return you needed to pay off a previously unpaid balance that you accrued when you were previously a member last year. Let me reiterate… UNPAID… IE you were NEVER CHARGED ANYTHING because your credit/debit card didn’t work.When you requested to cancel your membership back on 2/22/23 you were notified that you had outstanding invoices totaling $297 that were delinquent and unpaid. That outstanding balance was owed for membership dues that you accrued PRIOR to your request to cancel. At that time it was explained to you that your cancellation request would be placed in a pending status and would officially terminate once the balance was paid off. You then responded back stating your refusal to pay the balance as outlined in our detailed transcript with our billing department. Even with all of that your card was NEVER charged once in the last 9 months like you say. In fact not only was it not charged for for any subsequent months, we never collected your unpaid balance from the time you were at the gym.You then attempted to sign up through your insurance company the other day without paying the past due balance owed. When you attempted to activate it at the club, you were told that to activate it your account would need to be brought back to a “current” status. As a courtesy we were more than happy to work with you and remove any outstanding balance that had accrued post cancellation request, but that the balance accrued PRIOR to cancellation was still due.At that point, after the person in charge of our accounting department politely explained how the original past due payments needed to be paid before being able to re-activate your membership, you told our representative to “go F herself.”So ya, TLDR: You had an outstanding balance from your previous time here at Afterburn and were politely informed that you needed to clear that portion up before your membership could be reactivated. We told you that we would wipe any dues or fees accrued post cancellation request. And even though we have never collected a dime, at that point, you screamed profanities at our staff member. So ya I think you are better off at another club. Best of luck elsewhere.
