We visited this place for the first time and we loved it. They provided us excellent customer service but their foodthats when you understand the name. We got a chicken and a pork katsu plates. The portions are extremely generous. The macaroni salad is the best Ive ever tasted, has a hint of ambrosia. However, the saucesthey were all delicious! The curry sauces paired up so perfectly with the rice and chicken. The basil sauce is perfect with everything. The spicy sauce was also a favorite. Im so happy they were generous enough to give us a taste of all their sauce options. Whatever you decide, you cant go wrong. This hidden gem is an amazing addition to this shopping center. Theyve gained loyal local customers for sure.

I've tried this place a few times now and have recommended it to my colleagues. It does not disappoint. The lunch special is a toss up between a bento box and Hawaiian box style lunch. Choose a base, a protein, a sauce, and a couple of sides all for $13. They even throw in a miso soup. Big portions, good deal, well worth the price. They're super friendly and more than willing to hand out sample sauces to try, so far all have been tasty.
Vegetarian options: Fried tofu offered as protein option

One of the best Japanese food in Upland! Great service and friendly people. Shrimp tempura was so good! Macaroni salad feels like home, fruit salad is so refreshing, don't forget the peanut and basil sauce! Will come back for sure.

I had Secret Sauce bookmarked for a while now. I received a coupon in the mail for them and my husband's coworker had raved about them so it was a sign that we had to go! hahah. They are located in the same plaza as Sprouts and they're in between the nail place and Great Clips. There is no outdoor seating unfortunately, but they have a few tables inside.
There are 4 steps to ordering an entre ($13)
1) Pick a base: rice, udon, pita bread, or veggies
2) Pick one protein: Chicken Katsu (with or without cheese), grilled chicken, beef stew, pork katsu, shrimp, veggies, or fried tofu. NOTE: If you want a second protein, it's an extra $5
3) Pick one sauce; Japanese curry, basil, teriyaki, pear curry, tonkatsu, orange, spicy mayo and sometimes they have new sauces prepared that day
4) Pick two salads: Fruit salad, Macaroni salad, House salad
The food is not sitting out and they made the food to order.
Customer service is really friendly. My husband and I have eaten here twice now and they recognized us the second time already. So far we've tried the chicken katsu, pork katsu, shrimp, and fried tofu. Everything is made fresh and comes out really hot. Great portions too. They also give you extra sauces for you to taste test. For drinks, they have canned and bottled drinks available.
