I got great information and help on the phone. He could have charged me to come out on a service call but was honest enough up front to explain that the thermostat I wanted is not compatible with my setup.

Having inherited a problematic HVAC system, I can say that James has been thoroughly professional in resolving the issues that have come up. Hes very responsive, shows up in a timely manner, provides a correct diagnosis and a few options from the simplest to more future proof. He works very efficiently and the issues get fixed for good. He encourages you to seek second opinions.

James, the owner from Lunar Systems came to my home the other day to inspect an ac issue I have with my two stage ac system because it was not blowing ac while other times it does. Unfortunately, my experience with James is a negative one. As someone who manages property and has had a few experiences with AC repairs/replacements, here are my thoughts: 1. His AC unit pricing is overpriced against market. His quote for a new AC is based on a Chinese made AC system. Nothing wrong with that, however it is generic and not a top 10 systems used in the US. The reliability is unknown at $11k in price. It is twice the cost from another AC/heating guy who uses Carrier AC system, an extremely reliable household name, and a top 3 brands here in the US. (I have prospected a total of 4 AC companies, he is by far the most expensive by a long shot) At $11k, this is supposedly on a discount, without it, it would have been 4 times the amount of price from another AC/heating company. In short, a less quality product offered at an extremely high price. 2. He also offered a dual fuel pump system. His dual fuel pump is 2-3 times as much as quoted from other AC/heating company. 30k vs 12k. 3. He is dishonest. He told me he can't send me invoices for his inspection cost of $99 over email but yet that's where I ultimately receive the invoices from because he wanted to present his cost for me so to pressure me in signing up with him for the work. 4. He has bad intentions. He turned off my AC unit outside of my house and disconnected a wire after I had second thought about letting him perform the replacement of the AC. When another AC/heating guy came, he was puzzled as why the previous technician would do such a thing to "fix" the ac unit while turning the unit off. Luckily, this is not my first rodeo in an AC replacement. I wore a shirt bought from Target and I do not live in Palo Alto, one has to wonder, who lives in this side of town has the type of money he wants to scam out of? Here is my final thought. Despite reviews, you need to ALWAYS get a second if not a third opinion. You snooze you loose!
