BEWARE of FRAUDULENT CHARGES from this dentist, and more false representations of service: PROGRESSIVELY WORSE and with each encounter: * I got x-rays, exam, and cleaning done, and Soft Touch wrote up a plan for filling some cavities. * The cleaning itself was soft --but the initial PLAQUE PICKING did NOT seem THOROUGH. * The flossing done by the dental assistant was the MOST PAINFUL I've ever experienced in my life, as she did not wrap around the sides and back of the teeth, but POPPED THE FLOSS STRAIGHT DOWN INTO THE PAPILLA. My gums were sore for days... Maybe I should be grateful she didn't even bother flossing the very backs of the back teeth, nor in between the spaces of my permanent retainer. * The Dentist (J. Sandhu, DDS) completely dismissed the important concerns I wanted addressed in my dental plan. * After receiving the dental plan of costs and insurance codes, something seemed off, and it was slowly revealed that Soft Touch Dental was trying to illegally charge me for the dental liner (an optional product placed beneath a cavity filling) which is absolutely covered by my insurance. ST tried to deceive me by making me pay for it, using general insurance code "D9630" which is NOT covered by Denti-Cal --and the code's description did not nearly match the product descibed to me it was for. * When their front desk insurance expert (Kim) did not follow through with a call we planned to clarify this, I called her, and she sounded very defensive, saying repeatedly that "I would have to be prepared to cover the cost" of my concerns (Even though I had already made it clear that I spoke with my insurance already, who said it should be covered "no problem as long as they sent in my x-rays and got it approved first." Kim went in circles about this several times as if the ONLY outcome she was fixing to happen was for me to pay out of pocket. * I discovered these unscrupulous business practices through detailing my ST interactions with my insurance supervisors who were also former dental professionals. * When I communicated these unscrupulous payment demands and insured service denials, I told them they could gladly discuss it with my insurance provider. HOWEVER, ST Dental simply retaliated by sending me an end of relationship email they said, "due to a breakdown in the doctor/patient trust relationship." ....If you want patients to trust you, then you better be trustworthy, and certainly do not discriminate against certain forms of insurance ST advertises they accept.
