Very poor self guided tour experience. They provided the wrong gate key and have no one to assist when you are actually on the gate struggling with the wrong code. Just simply said 'Sorry', after wasting a lot of your time and energy.

3.5 is more accurate. Have stayed here for 2 years. Pros: good overall location in the bay, good shopping options, Bart access. Good amount of visitor parking. The maintenance team here is also amazing and very prompt at solving issues Cons: The community relations team is rarely in office and have often been difficult to reach. Theft and vandalism occurs kinda often. Have experienced once and heard multiple stories. Older facilities, fit & finish, and no elevator

All this is my opinion after living here for a year. My experience living at Verandas for a year was not worth $2300 a month. Id be happy paying $1750 a month. The apartment floors creaked above and below me and seemed very cheap so if you live under anyone here good luck with the noise. Take a second to consider my last comment seriously cause it is very worth a few hundred dollars to pay for something nicer worth your money. I dont think the maintenance team has any pride in their work, I dont really blame them since they seem to pick up most of the slack/work the community relations team should be doing. The front office community relations team is disappointing, I think ESSEX should either increase the pay grade for these jobs, recruit better people or do the jobs themselves. I dont think Community relations is ever in the community offices, I mean I get some jobs are capable of remote work but they are basically community residential service. So imagine having had dealt with over the phone customer service, this is the experience with the relations team here. Good luck dealing with them. Good luck living here, good luck with the noise & good luck wasting your money here every month. Kudos Verandas!!! Community relations team: Asking me my forwarding address for my refund to be sent then learning your property charged me to replace the carpets was pretty disappointing. I should have noted the condition of that on move-in but I failed to, so sure Ill pay. Ultimately my $600 deposit was taken and I was asked for more money. I get community relations isnt the most desirable job but have a little more credibility and respect for those of us who you are supposed to be working for. ESSEX: I think Verandas likely reflects your other communities. I think you are the core problem that extends to your properties, employees and residents who have to deal with it. Verandas seemed like it was void of any sense of pride, community and respect. Although seems like none of you probably even care enough to admit it and as long as youre getting paid right. As for maintenance, no comment I feel bad for yall.

My experience at Verandas Apartments was a complete nightmare. Despite the false sense of security from the gated community and surveillance cameras, my car was stolen right from their lot. The management? Utterly useless. They did nothing to help. To add insult to injury, they allowed people to view the apartment before I had even moved out, completely disregarding my privacy. When I finally moved out, they had the audacity to charge me a whopping $680 for cleaning, despite the fact that I had the apartment professionally cleaned and left it in same condition I received it in. I strongly advise anyone considering Verandas to think twice. Their lack of responsibility, respect for privacy, and integrity is appalling.
