Very caring center. Jake was treated for hyperthyroidism. They took excellent care of him.

The staff was very courteous and professional. Dr. Broome was very nice, and took his time both before and after the procedure to explain everything to us very well and kindly. They were all very sweet with us and our kitty.

We brought our 13 year old kitty Cowsy here for hyperthyroidism treatment in October 2021. Immediately after the treatment, her breathing had a very bad rattle and she sounded extremely congested. By January 2022, she had begun to urinate blood and not eat her food. We took her to urgent care in February and learned she had a rare and aggressive form of bladder cancer. We had to put her to sleep a month later in March 2022.
While one cannot draw a definitive link from the radioiodine treatment to Cowsy's sudden development of a rare and aggressive cancer, it seems very likely given her immediate change in health for the worse post-treatment, that her radiation treatment was the cause.
We are devastated by the loss of sweet Cowsy and wish we had just put her on hyperthyroid medication instead. RIP sweet girl.

My regular vet diagnosed my 12-year-old cat with hyperthyroidism and referred me here for radioactive iodine treatment after 30 days of giving him a daily oral medication. My cat, Ben, was admitted on a Sunday after an exam and consultation with Dr. Broome, followed by a test that confirmed two small tumors on his thyroid. He was placed in isolation with a video camera, allowing me to remotely check in on him from 8am to 8pm during the whole time he was there. The procedure was done on Monday, and I was able to bring him home on Thursday afternoon with detailed after-care instructions because he's still radioactive for 12 days. Dr. Broome and his entire staff were professional, knowledgeable, thorough, cordial, compassionate, and exhibited warm and tender feelings toward Ben. Through every phase, Dr. Broome or his staff answered all my questions and followed up by phone or by email. They operate like a well-oiled machine, and should my older 15-year-old cat develop hyperthyroidism, I fully intend to bring her here for treatment. I am fortunate that so far, I have been able to afford my pets medical treatments. If a time comes that I can't, I will start a Go Fund Me account and/or apply for funding from any number of charitable organizations that help pay people's vet bills. I strongly recommend AVMI and Dr. Broome. Do this for your cat(s) if needed.
