image I am compelled to share the horrendous experience I have endured with Alan and Patricia Eighmey of Strategic Legal Group. My intention in penning this review is not just to vent my absolute frustration, but to forewarn others who may consider availing their trustee services.
When my mother passed away, I naturally assumed legal guardianship over my brother who is developmentally delayed. I was under the impression that I would become my brothers trustee, but after a meeting with all of the siblings, Strategic Legal Group and attorney Alan Eighmey decided that his wife, Patricia Eighmey, would remain as the trustee, without adequately considering the impact on my brother and myself. The consequent experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.
From the onset, communication with Patricia has been filled with hurdles. Vital requests are often ignored, concerns are casually brushed aside, and her unilateral decisions have wreaked havoc on our lives. Instead of fostering open, cooperative dialogue, Patricia often opts for dictating her decisions, completely dismissing their serious potential consequences.
Her obstinate adherence to outdated payment methods like paper checks has led to an endless list of financial problems. Despite numerous, well-reasoned pleas for the adoption of modern electronic payment methods such as Zelle, Patricia has remained rigid and immovable. This inflexibility, as she explained, is because it "makes sense" to her, disregarding the tangible difficulties and financial burdens it places on us. Her refusal to adapt culminated in a crucial rent check being sent to an incorrect address, resulting in the looming threat of eviction for my brother.
The crux of the issue is that Patricia's reluctance to modernize and her frequent mistakes are not just inconveniencesthey shift an unbearable burden onto me. I find myself constantly paying out of pocket to rectify her blunders and mitigate the issues arising from her mismanagement, all while navigating the persistent stress and anxiety her decisions induce. The feeling of exploitation and being taken for granted is overwhelming.
Adding insult to injury, they are charging us an exorbitant $7,000 a year for their trustee servicesservices that have not only failed to support or alleviate our burden but have exacerbated the challenges we face. It's challenging to justify these substantial charges considering the consistent mismanagement, unprofessional conduct, and added stress.
In the face of such systemic inadequacy and indifference at the Strategic Legal Group, I am left feeling powerless. The struggle against their inefficiencies is taxing, and it's a struggle that no one should have to endure. I implore anyone seeking trustee services to consider this review and my experiences before making a decision.
I wouldn't wish the nightmare that is dealing with Strategic Legal Group and the Eighmeys on anyone.
