Amazing and informative staff, views are wonderful and to hear the seals off the coast was magical. The Sea Lion room was cozy with a pacific ocean view which is beautiful. Cannot emphasize the amazing breakfasts we enjoyed as well as the tasting plate in the afternoon. Very short drive to the stunning Redwood National Park. Truly a lovely Inn and one we will return to!

The Lost Whale is the perfect place to stay the night especially when your main plan is to visit the ancient and mystical Redwood Forest, a short :30 drive away. We stopped here for a night's rest, and were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and welcoming it was. Our room and bed were clean and comfortable, the shower had steaming hot water for a wonderful shower, the views from the dining room were spectacular and the hosts were friendly and helpful. The property is also well kept by extensive staff. In the public areas, there is a fire pit, hot tub and a Ben Franklin wood burning stove for those chilly windy nights. There are different room types, I had the king bed with a day bed option for my teenage son. Eget Room I believe it was called. The room was nice, it's on the main road, and there is no view. If you came to see the ocean, and sleep to nature's waves, request a different room type. Overall, notwithstanding the noise during the morning from the hustle and bustle of breakfast, the aroma of steeping fresh coffee, and also, when it's sold out, the hot tub and fire pit will be very crowded, The Lost Whale is a great place to stay for a night or two.

This was a truly magical place. The scenery was breath taking. The staff had great recommendations of what hikes to take in the area. The food was delightful. The bed was very soft but with a lot of support. I hope to visit again. Rooms: The rooms all have private bathrooms and are beautifully furnished. Nearby activities: The beaches are very nearby (but not directly from the backyard). There are several amazing trails through the Redwoods nearby. Food & drinks: Delicious snacks, beverages, and breakfast. Noteworthy details: The antiques throughout the house were incredible. Yet this is a very warm and comfortable place to stay.

Spectacular views, phenomenal staff, and great breakfast! We loved our stay here, and our hostess was outstanding. She knew all the local spots and was so friendly! Her berry crisp has my mouth watering just remembering it. The ambiance was amazing, and you couldnt ask for a better setting. Highly highly recommend this place!
