I spent about two years working with Jan. She guided me through the most difficult time in my life. She was firm, direct and called my hand but what a difference in my life as she rebuilt me into a new person. I could not recommend her any more than I still call her 20 years latter when I have a concern or an issue.

my family has occasionally seen her for years. her husband is the psychiatrist dr. gerald simon. they're both highly educated, have 40+ years experience, (over 80 total) and are very sharp. jan is pleasant and nice (and a genuinely good person), but she doesn't just try to make you feel good. in no uncertain terms, she elucidates why you/your family members do the things you/they do, how to ameliorate it, then holds you accountable. she's a 5' tall septuagenarian but she's tough :)
