I would not recommend using Valley of Peace cremation and burial services in Simi Valley. We looked it up and they are unaccredited with the Better Business Bureau. I had the displeasure of dealing with a man named Don who said he was the owner. Don was very hard to work with. Several times I had to say we don't seem to be understanding each other. Other times I was dismissed as they had "clients" there. My family was also a client. For whatever reason we were constantly treated as if we were bothering them and discarded. I had to call at least three times in order to get one call back from Don. When Don did speak with me I was ordinarily dismissed. Don was rude and his attitude was inhumane. You would think that people that work in these types of services would know how to be compassionate but I've never seen a colder person with less consideration for our feelings or our time. I have since found out that other cremation places would let you put a toy or a blanket or a nightgown on your loved one or maybe you could even see them before they get cremated. None of these things were offered to me by Valley of peace. That is something I still regret today. When I had asked which crematoriums they actually used they said they have two that they usually use. I was warned by them not to bother the crematoriums otherwise they would stop the process, refund the money and I would have to find other means to take care of my loved one. When Don said that he was going to deliver the ashes of my loved one it was a very hot day. My family sat out front and waited in the heat. Of course Don was not on time. Don did not even call to explain that he was not going to be on time. Again I needed to call the office and get rerouted and then have to wait for him to call me back to tell me that it would "probably" be another 20 minutes. This was very painful to my family and very disgraceful. Upon his arrival Don started to give me someone else's death certificates. Seems to me that would be something that you would not mix up because it should be important. Don seemed to laugh it off. I hate that my loved one was treated with less care than ordering a pizza. Don treated my loved one like trash and he treated us like trash in my opinion. I cannot recommend that anyone use this service.

Husband died 9/22/22. Paid them 10/5/22. Today is 10/11/22 and still nothing. Horrible people at your worst time.

It's so stressful & overwhelming when a loved ones passes away. Everyone at Valley Of Peace Cremation were really empathetic, kind, & on top of everything. They made this time a little easier for myself.

In a time of great sadness and loss, it takes a special team to walk you through arrangements with care and compassion. Melissa and her team did just that. They were also extremely reasonably priced and professional. I specifically chose Valley of Peace Cremation & Burial over another large cremation company because of how warm and kind they were. We received our family members' ashes on time and the death certificates quickly so we could start the process of moving forward. Thank you Melissa and team for your kindness, support and service.
