Dr. Jose-Luis Ruiz

The only thing that saves this place from getting (1) star is the staff. They were always pleasant and professional. The problem I have is with Dr Ruiz and his general practice. There were two very specific issues I had with Supra-Gingival which I will detail to be clear. The first was that we determined it was better to extract two of my 3rd molars rather than save them with crowns. So he specifically sent me to what appeared to be his other officeto have the extractions done there. This 'sister' office is in Burbank - his name was on the marquee - his brochures were in the waiting room - and it was his recommendation!! However - apparently these two offices (according to the office manager there) are NOT affiliated and don't communicate...!?. She even indicated that they didn't 'get along' - like the patient and customer (me) has to deal with some sort of inner feuding situation?? Sorry - not my problem - resolve your own issues and be professional. Anyway - this meant that my X-rays, (taken just weeks before) could not be shared and I needed additional imaging when I very specifically stated I DID NOT want additional or unnecessary imaging because I'd had many x-rays and MRI's, etc in the past. These were mostly for sports related injuries but the point was to limit my exposure whenever possible. The argument that these X-rays were 'different' is nonsense - these 3rd molars were not impacted - the extractions were simple and straightforward. It was mostly an excuse to bill more $$$. The second thing that occurred involved a mouth guard I had made by his office. It never fit correctly. I explained repeatedly that it was 'hitting' on one tooth (2nd molar) in particular and cause me pain when I wore it. They tried, unsuccessfully, to fix it but it needed to be re-made - which I asked for multiple times. They refused and the result was that eventually the crown on the 2nd molar (because of the pressure of grinding my teeth at night) came loose and fell off. This was, without a doubt, caused by the night guard. So - instead of apologizing and making good on the problem they charged me to put the crown back in place and STILL never offered to make a new night guard - one that fit properly and did not damage my teeth. Honestly, I could list other issues as well but in the end, when we receive bad service, we simply move on and that's what I did. I have since found a superior dentist and practice and am quite happy.

Dr Ruiz is the BEST! So kind and fast and his work is ALWAYS impeccable. Highly recommend!

I have been coming here for a few years and absolutely love it! Everyone is very nice and welcoming! My teeth/gums have also never felt healthier! Definitely would recommend anyone to start coming here if you are looking for a new dental office!

I always have a pleasant experience with Dr. Ruiz and staff. I was able to have my cleaning and a filing in the same visit; that way I saved a trip. They always exceed my expectations , I feel confident having my treatment done here. Nowadays, it's hard to find good and honest dentists that truly care about patients. That is why I have confided my family's oral care to Dr. Ruiz.
