I have been a resident of Stockton and San Francisco back and forth through my life, but went to St. Lukes mostly as a child. After my brother was murdered it devastated me as one could imagine and when I needed a priest to talk to, confess my sins I found the doors are always locked, I could never get anyone to talk to. Fast forward 15 years later I go to different Catholic churches and had no ill experiences, so today, which is Easter Sunday I take my family for mass. When receiving communion we went to receive our body of Christ, and my daughter was in front and my son in front of me which I was holding his shoulders, when I approached the minister he gave me this strange uneasy look and seemed hesitant to give me the bread which he mumbled and gave it to me, as I turned to walk back to our area I see a Asian lady grabbing my daughter with a look on her face like a vicious viper and another lady interogating her so I hurry over and found she took the bread, but did not eat it (she has behavior issues and eating disorder) which to them they made a huge scene and asked her many questions as I stood up for her to proclaim we are catholic, but gave her a 'test' which she says she failed smh my daughter was terrified and crying then the Spanish lady looked at me and says "This is sacred to US, we take this very seriously." which made me think 'what do you mean us?' I was ashamed and angry at the same time I grabbed my family and left without finishing mass. I tried to go back after mass was ended for the respect of not disturbing mass, because I wanted to talk with the father about this and how upset I was about it. With Holy Communion awards in my hand I went to every single building which was you guessed it LOCKED, even if my daughter did or did not have her communion they could have approached us quietly as we went back to our seats and talked to the parents it was pathetic how they handled the situation I'm ashamed of my catholic brothers and sisters for this, I will never go back to St. Lukes again.
