Its still cold in South Lake Tahoe, and the visitor center is still closed for the season. But, the paths are available to stroll. Since it is still technically closed, nature is everywhere; meaning trees and branches are down in spots on the path. They upgraded the path, in the last couple years; added additional wooden boardwalk on the path. In the past the path would be underwater in spots. Not the case, anymore. Forest Service did a great job with the addition. I adore this place. A must see during all four seasons to watch nature do its thing.

I've been visiting this place since I was a boy, its popularity over the past few years has risen. I like that it is lesser known, quiet and great for out doors individuals. There are annual events held here but I love it in August when its warm and the water is refreshing. There is a cool pathed walk way with fun facts laced all about it and its surrounding ecosystem as well as a water chamber thats currently closed due to the pandemic and flood damage from the previous winter. Definitely worth a visit if you have time and want a cute stroll along the creek.
