Rooms: seems newly updated. beds are really comfortable. housekeepers are friendly and responsive. Nearby activities: really close to various activities, either direction from the hotel. Walkability: just 15 minute (or even less) walk to nevada stateline. other direction will take you to the lake which is also just 15 minutes.

The Hampton Inn & Suites South Lake Tahoe property was a pleasant stay. We found the staff and service to be exceptional and the room was very comfortable. The property was kept very clean and we were really satisfied with the bathrooms being so up-to-date. The breakfast was surprisingly really good as well! Yvette from the kitchen staff was outstanding and really goes above and beyond her job duties to make sure others are comfortable and well served. Her energy was infectious and she was so positive, it really creates a nice atmosphere. We typically stay at the Edgewood when visiting Tahoe but this is a really refreshing stay if you're looking for something more economical. We look forward to staying again.

New and renovated room. Good service. However, they charge a $15 parking fee even for award stays or Diamond members. At such a location with no covered parking, this is simply a rip off.
