Our Daughter has gone here since pre school prep, and now this year she is graduating and moving on to Kindergarten. I cant say enough about how great all the teachers are and staff, and how safe my wife an I have felt the whole time our Daughter has been attending here. I appreciate and respect the Montessori Way and see great value in it and I look forward to bring my next child here for their early education.

My child attends COMS and I am eagerly looking forward to sending my next baby there when he is of age. Our entire experience has been nothing, but positive! I also teach public school in Santa Rosa (Junior High) and have many students who are COMS "grads". As a group they are academically equipped, emotionally well adjusted and share fond memories of their time at COMS.

My son has attended College Oak for 3 years. We could not have had a more positive experience. Our son was born 13 weeks premature and had a lot of challenges in early life. Though College Oak is not a special needs school, our son has thrived there. We have had additional needed therapy provided by the school district and College Oak has been very accommodating with assessments and when therapists have needed to see our son in his classroom environment. As a premie parent of a child in early start, we had so many fears and concerns for his development. From the moment we walked into College Oak, we felt part of a living and supportive community that loved both him and us. Our child is also of mixed race and we have been happy he shares an environment with other children of different racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We have been so pleased to see his growth and happiness, that we decided to keep him there in Michelle's class through Kindergarten year. Our son loves school and we love bringing him there. We will miss our College Oak family so much when fall 2019 comes around.

If I could give a negative star review, I would for this establishment... after just 4 days of having my 3 year old son attend this school, they deemed him "not a good fit" simply because he is a self starter, self motivator, & has a hard time transitioning from a task he's engulfed his attention in to something he's not interested in with a huge group. Please let me stress my distaste for their lack of empathy & care towards my intelligent, empathetic & self motivated child. Every day I picked him up from school, they had him by himself in the office with a supervisor as if he were in trouble simply because he would rather continue to explore his math equations & work more with his hands than sit in a circle & sing nursery rhymes he already knows. Instead of encouraging the children to invite him into the group, they gave up any chance he got frustrated & brought him to the office away from everyone else. When my child is with me, I can literally talk him down from being upset in a matter of 10-20 seconds with a good explanation & reason & yet NOT ONE teacher took the time needed for him to understand because they can't admit they are overwhelmed. We enrolled our little genius in this school because they stressed the idea of the children being able to explore their creativity how they want, & never thought they would make a 3 year old feel inadequate & give up on him in just 4 DAYS OF ATTENDANCE. For anyone assuming my kid normally must be a hassle with how they treated his situation, I can assure you he has never once been watched by anyone 1 on 1 or in a group setting that didn't sing his praises for how intelligent, engaging & well mannered he was. My mind is blown knowing someone had the audacity to make my little one feel less than he is. As a Montessori school, College Oak is the most backwards establishment I've ever come across as far as understanding the policies/practices they are supposed to be implementing. Think twice before you bring your child here, they are quite different once the door closes.

First and foremost, I just wanted to take a tour of the school, no commitment. However it seems at this school that is not an option. When I called I was told they only have a "tour season" what ever that means. Which I would think would be right about now for the Aug 2017 school year but apparently this "tour season" it's already over and tours are not given at this time. Instead I was instructed to go on the their website to get all the info I needed and fill out an application to be put on a waiting list. Hmmmmm, waiting list for a tour? I'm not even sure I want my child to go here as of yet.  Why would I want to be put on a waiting list for school I wasn't even allowed to see?? Kinda of hash stance to take for a school who only has a 3 star rating. Any case, first impressions are everything to me whether it be on the phone or in person. Needless to say this was not a good one.  With so many choices for preschools in the Santa Rosa area I'll be moving on ...
