Santa Rosa Dance Theater

Our daughter is extremely lucky to have the Santa Rosa Dance Theater in town. Our family is so blessed. What an amazing school. The dance teachers are extraordinary. Balance, confidence, grace, the dance school is wonderful.

Not only do I thrive in skill level at SRDT I thrive as a person, student, and dancer. If you want to take ballet and you live in Sonoma County you have to take Santa Rosa Dance Theater for training.

Very nice, clean studio with a warm and welcoming adult ballet community. The instructor has done a wonderful job of building positive relationships with clients. I'm not here to bring anyone down, especially after surviving the pandemic, just want to offer constructive feedback.Based on my experience I won't be coming back. After covid restrictions I am a rusty dance professional and just want a safe space to get back into practice where I won't be coached or scrutinized. I am also physically disabled, told the instructor, yet they offered corrections directly related to my physical limitations. One wouldn't tell someone in a wheelchair to stand up, or someone wearing a cast on their arm to do a handstand; the same level of respect needs to extend to people with invisible disabilities. I'm offering this feedback with the hope of broadening perspectives of inclusivity, especially with respect to folks with disabilities in a recreational adult class. Also might be helpful to double check email correspondence to make sure payment information is included for new clients; I felt gaslit when I offered to pay by card but the instructor insisted, twice, that they detailed payment is by check or cash in our email exchange (it wasn't when I reviewed it after class).I'm not going to touch on my thoughts on andragogical approach, suffice it to say this is a nice place to be if you have a foundational understanding of ballet and want to enjoy the social aspect of taking class.
