I highly recommend Santa Monica Plumbing!  We've worked with them for around 10 years and are still happy!  Marco, Manny and Rudy helped us out to fix our toilet that was leaking, changed the fill valve, put in a new flapper, a new flex hose, changed a galvanized pipe and replaced a frozen angle stop.  They were tenacious in their problem solving and came up with a solution so we didn't have to break walls.   We wanted a proper fix and Santa Monica Plumbing did exactly that.  Thank you SMP!

Santa Monica Plumbing & Heating has become our go-to for all plumbing matters.  We have worked with Manny, Marco and Buddy.  Most recently Manny was here to help diagnose a problem with our dishwasher.  He was persistent and thorough and his work allowed us to conclude that we needed to call the appliance repair service because the problem was not with the plumbing.  Knowing that made it possible for our appliance repair person go right to the problem.  Manny was knowledgeable, highly conscientious and a very good communicator.  SM Plumbing & Heating are highly professional and do great work.

The toilet was leaking at the washer between tank and bowl, only when flushed so not an emergency.  I was happy that Manny and Rudy were able to do the job the same day, but had a couple of disappointments.  First, I was quoted a price of $895 for the whole job, but when the crew came out to evaluate the situation they realized the water inlet was directly behind the toilet.  I also didn't want an oval toilet due to lack of space in the bathroom.  Marco selected a toilet for the crew that didn't accommodate the existing water shutoff valve and was $89 more, plus I was charged $175 to replace the valve.  It also took at least an hour more than I was originally told.  While I'm happy that the leak is fixed, it's disappointing that professional plumbers have problems with an older building and said it wasn't built to code.  Construction is done to the code existing at that time.  Good points: workers were professional and did the job thoroughly.  Bad points:  Failing to choose fixtures that would work with existing plumbing, and charging more than initial estimate.  I'm also disappointed that the workers don't wear masks; masking is simple and protects workers and customers.
