    I was gonna leave a long review. In short, members have little gym etiquette, dumbbellls and plates are strung out all over the gym (even in the sauna), floors are filthy and always have empty water bottles and paper towels laying around, and machines are outdated and in need of maintenance. I had my membership a month and canceled.

    Really lacking some basic equipment. Update: They no longer have towels either :D To clarify, while it certainly is the case that several machines are out of repair, and hopefully you guys are repairing and upgrading them, there are simply things missing, such as a plate-loaded decline press, for example. If you're short on space, you can't have everything, I guess.

    I would give this location 2.5 stars as gym. its depleted over the years as far as quality of equipment and how often the sauna is functioning. I am giving it 1 star for my experience today with Miguel over the phone. I joined two years ago and paid for the full year. I know that I canceled my membership and looking at my bank statement, I realized that I have been charged for a full year without me knowing. I called the location on my first call and was on hold with no one answering for 40 minutes when I prompted for cancel. I called back again and prompted for sales and someone picked up within 3 minutes.odd. The person that picked up the call was Miguel and I explained to him that I joined for 1 year, 2 years ago. I canceled my membership, not remembering specifically, but I thought I could do it through the app. He immediately began telling me that I didnt cancel and repeatedly talking over me. Being a year has passed, I mightve mistaken how I canceled, but I know that I did. Instead of taking the proper customer service route and saying maybe things didnt go through or maybe there was an issue with the cancellation, he insistently repeated that I never canceled. Miguel clearly has absolutely no customer service skills or even cares to try and figure out what mightve went wrong. The phone call definitely got heated, but it should never escalate to that level when you are a business trying to solve an issue with a current or previous customer. I would avoid this location for not only the lack of customer service, but also a gym that seems like it doesnt care too much anymore to keep up with the times.

    DO NOT SIGN UP!!! The men's shower walls were covered in BLACK MOLD, the rest of the men's locker room is absolutely filthy. The gym itself is stuffy, smelly and incredibly unhygienic. The Santa Monica health department seriously needs to pay a visit and inspect. When I spoke to Bilal El-Amin, the gym manager about the conditions he became incredibly condescending and made up lies. He said there are users that come in the middle of the night, wreck the place and they can't clean up until later in the day. He also tried to pass off the black mold as soap scum (I'm not the only review talking about black mold) and he suggested that I've never used a public shower before. When trying to cancel my membership the corporate office told me only the branch manager can help me, Bilal El-Amin, the branch manager told me only corporate can help me. I ended up having to pay $50 to cancel my membership through corporate. Stay far away and save yourself the money and a possible staph infection.
