Gemma is a gifted coach/bodyworker. By listening carefully to your needs/issues, she integrates different modalities and therapeutic practices into a very individualized session. It's a really lovely partnership, not the traditional or clich therapy experience. Sometimes you need a comforting massage to get back into your body or the skilled bodywork that releases deeper traumas. Sometimes you need to reflect on thought patterns, dig into where they stem from, and co-construct new, healthier ones. Sometimes you come in an emotional mess, feeling all the feelings, and she'll help you sift through it all to see what the heck is going on. Gemma is a master at guiding you through whatever catharsis you need at your own pace, hearing and mirroring back what you're expressing, and offering options, ideas, suggestions, and practices to help you feel more empowered. Ive been seeing Gemma for a least a year now and she is amazing! I see Gemma for massage therapy and coaching, and she has become an important part of my support system toward my wellness. When an unexpected fire created some drastic changes in my life, I called Gemma. I have always enjoyed receiving massage from her. But for this situation, it was wonderful to enter her calm therapeutic space knowing that I could completely relax and bring out my thoughts and feelings and unsettled mess to look at and start the healing process. Gemma asked gentle questions and let me choose what paths to take and tools to use that felt right for me in the moment. She reflected back to me the beauty that she saw, which was very encouraging to here in such a stressful moment.
