High Street Walkway Bridge

A very useful bridge for crossing over the busy Highway 1. This bridge is very convenient if you have to commute from the upper part of downtown up to UCSC, and it literally bridges the gap between some isolated areas of bike infrastructure in Santa Cruz. You can ride from the riverwalk over to this bridge mostly on bike paths or quiet streets and then get into the bike lanes on High Street that take you up to UCSC or the bike path that goes over to Harvey West. The ramps are wide and not too steep, so you can stay on your bike as you go over (even though you're not supposed to) which saves time and effort. I only wish this bridge was easily accessible from the Mission/Chestnut intersection so that pedestrians could just bypass that treacherous intersection too. My commute would be much more difficult and annoying without this bridge
