The getting the keys and the helpful man working and answering questions was good. But the apartment itself was very, very dirty. Even inside the cabinets the furniture, the bathroom was all unacceptable. I'm not sure if no one cares because it's students moving in but this should never be OK on any level. It took longer to clean than to move in my daughter. My daughter is in her second year living in Capri out of no choice because finding housing in Isla vista is so difficult. It has been a terrible experience. Over the last year and half there toilet backs up into the apartment every couple of months. The management always blame it on the kids, which is ridiculous. Now they had sewage water come up in there kitchen. My daughter and her roommates were complaining for months there kitchen smells so bad they can't even cook there meals or eat in there kitchen. They were being told the dishwasher upstairs is having problems. Finally sewage water started to come up into there floor. They have moved the girls out to a hotel. They Are not giving them money for food or Ubers to get to campus. They are and have been charging full rent Even while they are out. And the apartment is beyond disgusting and don't seem to want to take responsibility for deep cleaning it. Needless to say my daughter and her roommates said they would rather live in a car next year. Thank God they found another place to live. I can understand problems happen to a building but the way they are NOT managed at Capri is unacceptable! Lastly, Jenn responded with an apology and to reach out. No one ever answers phone calls or emails. Now there is a new manager that says no to everything

This is a nice quiet complex comparative to others in IV. The location is known as the study street as it is walking distance to the IV party zone and a quick bike ride to UCSB. The SB public transit system is nearby and excellent. The apartment complex is clean with a secured bike rack area. The laundry facility onsite uses an app and is a bit expensive. Our apartment was originally a 1bed 1 bath that was converted to a 2bed 1 bath with extra sink area, and kitchen with small table. There is no sitting social area for the renters to relax in with friends other than their rooms. The rent seems fair for the area and apt size. The apt staff and response to fix item's has been great. If you have a roommate move out with your child extending their stay do request a walk through day of roommate leaving so you do not have to pay half of past roommates cleaning and damage charges. I recommend this complex.
