Rob is an intuitive healer/ trainer. I came to Rob with heaps of pain in my neck/ arms and back. After struggling with Thoracic outlet syndrome for 5 years Rob was able to help get me out of pain within only a couple months of functional training. I was a NCAA DIVISION 1 track and field athlete and Rob is by far the most intelligent trainer I have ever met. His approach is holistic and his banter is good as well. It is very easy for me to write that learning and working with Rob has been one of the greatest blessings of my athletic life.

I've been working with Rob for the past eight months and have felt transformed by our experience together. After years of participating in group fitness classes that were fun but often left me physically depleted or in pain, Rob has begun to undo years of degeneration with his holistic, precise, and individualized approach to fitness. Our workouts are always extremely dynamic and variable. I leave invigorated rather than exhausted, and he gives me empowering tools and simple exercises to take into the rest of my life. Whether we're doing breathwork, dynamic movement, or massage, I always feel seen, encouraged, and ever so slightly pushed past my edge in a way that keeps me growing. To top it off, Rob is delightful to be around! I am so grateful to have found him and encourage anyone-- wherever they might be in their journey-- to reach out and benefit from his expertise.

I started working with Rob @ train rugged earlier this year and have really been enjoying the experience. Rob is a great communicator and he really knows the body and understands it. The workout approach is different than the more traditional approach of weight lifting and I LOVE IT!! Its awesome. If I could give rob and his training 50 I would!

Rob is a terrific personal trainer and I recommend him highly. He's very skilled at training remotely, supervises workouts that safely improve your strength and range of motion after injury, and has seamlessly replaced my in-person gym trainer. Plus, he's a super nice guy.

(A more thorough description is below) For somebody seeking to train/ build their body in an intelligent and effective manner, look no further than Rob. Im an aging adult who still works and likes to feel good, and I also enjoy being around people who are easy to talk to, have a sense of humor, and are competent in what they do. Rob checks all the boxes and so many more. He is empathic, wise, and cares about his clients. If you live in Santa Barbara and are looking for training, exercise, massage or physical therapy or any sort of body intelligence work youve got to work with him. Physics applied to the body. His approach addresses imbalances and blends together physical therapy with performance training, and it feels great! As my body coach and physical trainer, Rob is also a friend and consultant on how to get the most out of my movement and results. He is a teacher, helping me build connections I've forgotten about and reclaim strength I didn't know was in me. In our time together he has changed my perception of "strength, fitness" and everything in between. Rob has taught me, over the past few years, that Restoring balance and equilibrium to the body is a lifelong project. Ive actually shifted my perspective on what it means to get older, and through Robs training I am learning that we can actually make our bodies feel less stiff and more limber. For frame of reference, I am in my mid-50s, have worked out on and off my entire life, and love to be as active as possible. My biggest challenges when looking to evolve my physical capacity is usually hindered by the fact that I get hurt or I dont know what to do next. Rob takes care of that for me. Working with him 2-3x a week has allowed me to see noticable change in not only my body composition, but my coordination, joint range of motion, and physical ability.. I find him more effective than any Physical Therapist in the Santa Barbara area, and he is a skilled bodyworker who works to undo years of chronic calcified buildup in my body. I used to think that more was better and you only rehab some thing when you get hurt, but I am learning that through corrective exercise and working the details that we can improve our fitness without injury. And its worth its weight in gold. Go see him!.
