I've been seeing Dr. Edward Oklan for over 10 years now. He has always been a great guy, nice with a good sense of humor. He also is really skilled. Previous psychiatrists I had before Dr. Oklan were nowhere are skilled as he is. Experience and expertise go a long way. I am stable and in great care in regards to my psychiatric needs, thanks to him. He listens well and uses what he hears and sees to make good judgement on the next step forward for me.5 stars all the way. He's the best in the business.

Dr. Oklan has helped create some significant changes for our daughter. For nearly two years, he has been kind, humorous, insightful and thoughtful in his approach and demeanor. We appreciate the questions he asks, his curiosity in understanding the issues and circumstances, and how he responds to what is shared. Knowing when to be sensitive, as well as when to be funny, are a lovely balance and often serves as an antidote. He connects with children in a lovely manner; he shares his own childhood stories and memories, he uses analogies that help illustrate situations, he demonstrates genuine empathy, and he is very attentive to the needs of a child's well being. We appreciate his wisdom and opinion, as well as he offering us possible solutions to consider. He providing us options and opportunities, and then discussing, evaluating and deciding on a plan and path as a team, has proven to be very successful and rewarding. Dr. Oklan is a wonderful doctor and man.

I rarely write reviews.  But in this instance, I feel I have a civic duty and an obligation to our community and to people who might need a psychiatrist, to warn them of Oklan's unethical practices.  I was an innocent victim of his,  He over prescribing of a very dangerous drug.  I did not know Adderal was addictive and of high potency.  The prescription he had me on was for 80 mgs a day.  I ended up being hospitalized and was horrified when Ed  refused to speak with the admitting doctor.  Ed claimed  he was not my doctor even though I was had seen him for a year and a half and had just filled his prescription within the month.  When he refused to talk to the hospital I felt a sense of bretayal and disbelief.  At a gut level I realized he was not suited to be a doctor.  His lack of professionalism was like nothing I had ever witnessed.   What doctor would not attend to a client who has been hospitalized from the side effects of serious withdrawal from a highly addictive drug.  I have never suffered more in my life while withdrawing from Adderal.  I had not been warned by Ed so I had to learn the hard way.  When I finally went to the hospital, it is then that I finally found some relief.  And all of this without a word from my doctor.All I can say, is that I am not alone in this negative review.  I have several friends and acquaintances that agree with me, that Dr. Okaln should be stripped of his medical license.
