Taking the training at The Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael was a wonderful and incredible life changing experience for me. This training was informative, tranformative and set my success trajectory to whole new levels. Even if someone does not plan on being a life coach I think that this training should be mandatory for all humans. To learn to communicate knowing the perspectives and lessons one gets from attending these trainings takes you to a deeper understanding of people and more rewarding connections. Learning how to listen and practice the coaching skills makes it easy to empower yourself and others and to help yourself and others get where you and they want to go in life.

Trasnformational program. Invaluable hands-on learning experience in a fun and supportive environment. If you're thinking about it...stop. And just do it.

Hmmm... Going here was an utter waste of time! But they will gladly take your money and blame you/your vibration/your mindset when you don't get what you come for. I went here and found that my experience was absolutely beautiful. I grew a lot, met some wonderful people, and learned a lot about coaching. I was on disability and my goal at that time was to make it my business. I threw caution to the wind and totally embraced all they had to offer. However, none of my plans turned out at all.I think that they prey on people down on their luck and encourage them to pursue a course of action that's impractical, unless you have a lot of wealth, connections, etc. That's the bottom line. They encourage a group mindset/mind thought that sounds wonderful and the teachers talk about their business, like they have tons of clients. Yet, when you have issues with them (the training, the lact of clients, upcoming/unpaid bills, etc.). They attribute it to your mindset and offer you an opportunity to become their client and pay them for their services, so that you can change your negative mindset. That turned me off.The truth was that they offered a way to approach people that turned them off. I still have some funky vibes with these folks. They offered some  activites that you could participate in to get clients, however, when I went, I was one of many "coaches" who were there to get clients. Oftentimes, we outnumbered the people participating for other services. Also, it totally blew to hit or be hit on by a fellow coach. They wanted me to continue with them! No thanks! At the end I had one paying client. People who were "interested" showed up for the sample session and would make the changes they wanted. Others didn't show up for my sample session. That was demoralizing. The main problem is that the people I was dealing with came from a different socio-economic background. They didn't have money to burn. One classmate wowed us with a story of the response she received when she told people her services cost $500 per month. I was asking for $325 per month - the going rate at that time. I found out later that she was in wine country, had a husband who was loaded, and her friends would get together over brunch or over a coffee klatch for their sessions. The people I was involved with weren't loaded like that. And they hated it when I showed them that they had the money to pay me. I also tried having groups, advertised, did some speaking and got nothing. All my money from disability was used to pay for this sham with no meaningful outcome! For me, the difference between the one star they have and the five stars I thought I would give them was the outcome. One client and tons of work, energy, classes, speeches, workshops, intro seesions, etc. and not one paying client. My dream of 10-15 clients, a podcast, this being my way off of disability, a Hay House book, You Can Do It participation, a shot on Oprah's show, my PBS special, etc. went down the drain. I went big, had the vision board, etc. and it didn't work. So I went home. Keep your money and stay home. You'd be better off.

I began my coaching at the Coaching Institute in February, 1997 and followed through with four intense weekend courses. My coaching practice began during my training (I was already professionally working with clients in another capacity) and found the education fro the institute invaluable to continue on a deeper level. I truly learned so much and found the teachers and program superb for my purposes. My coaching practice continues to be fulfilling for me and my clients. Through the coaching process I've witnessed many realize what once was only a dream become a goal, and that goal realized successfully.  What I found worked for me with this style of coaching was the philosophy of not all about business to "make it" but to truly be fulfilled on a personal level too as one embraces living with their unique skills, talents and abilities. I highly recommend this school.
