My whole family has seen Dr. Redfern for years, from my parents to my kids.  He is reasonably priced, easy to get a hold of, responsive to emergencies, flexible with appointment times.  Both my kids have seen Dr. Redfern for their whole lives.  He is gentle but firm and straight forward with kids, he gets the work on them done quickly and thoroughly.  Neither of my kids have ever had any fear of the dentist and I credit Dr. Redfern's demeanor for this.  I highly recommend Dr. Redfern to anyone looking for a new dentist.  Don't expect a "spa" like office experience, DO expect competent care, honest up front discussion of dental needs and the prices associated with those needs.

Yesterday, I called Dr. Redfern because he was the emergency on call for my husband's dentist. After a routine teeth cleaning, earlier in the week, he ended up in excruciating pain, and spent 24 hours in agony over Thanksgiving. A tough guy, so with tears streaming down his face as he carved our turkey. That night, he slept with pain killers, but only sporadically. I paged Dr. Redfern on Friday morning and when he called me back, and I told him what was going on, he said, "My office is closed today, it will be a $300 charge to open the office, plus x-rays and the treatment. I suggest you take him to the emergency room, and they will give him pain killers." "I explained that he had been taking them, and was in need of treatment, not more drugs." Basically, this man had the ability to help someone, during his scheduled on call day, and was not willing. He literally told me that he should just eat pain killers until Monday. I have no idea what kind of dentist he is, but as a human, he's unkind, unsympathetic, and selfish.

I don't yelp often, but I had a great experience at this dentist. I am not one for going to the dentist and it usually brings me anxiety; however my opinions have changed since I went to Dr. Redfern. I went into the office and it was very welcoming, quiet, and calm. He immediately came out and welcomed me and I filled out the patient paper work. I waited maybe 10 minutes because I was early, but he saw me immediately. I think he could tell I was a little bit nervous, but he reassured me that everything will be fine and he will let me know of any procedure he needs to do. I have never had a more caring dentist who actually wanted to discuss what my dental problems were and listened to my opinion. The overall visit went so smoothly I  feel much more comfortable going to the dentist. Dr. Redfern is kind, experienced, and funny. He  values that his patients feel comfortable and not in any pain. I highly recommend this dentist because he changed my perspective and I don't think I can go to another dentist.
