They should have a fillin person that can remover holds on inspections if someone takes a week off. No backup plan is not very helpful or profesional. This kind of stuff can make or break a project. It definitely hurt my business.
On the good side they rest of the office was helpful and treated me with respect. That is a big improvement from the old Marin County building department.
