Nathan did a foundation inspection for house on the slope in South Bay. He did an outstanding job discovering serious issues that no one noticed before. Worse to mention he never tried to exaggerate the problem, but rather just explain why it happened and what are the options to fix it.

This review is specially for Ky Rhoda. We have been working with Bear Engineering for several times. They are professional and fast response. Especially Ky Rhoda, who works for our recent house with a shallow crawl space foundation. Ky has done detail-oriented inspection to the shallow crawl space, and his report is very helpful to guiding us for the repair solutions with Option 1, 2 & 3. Each solution is with a reasonable market price range and the comparisons is provided between option 1,2 & 3. Thanks to Ky, we can quickly and easily decide on a reasonable repair plan with an affordable foundation team as a 1st time foundation repair owners. Last not the least, Ky has been very experienced in the soil engineer industry, he could definitely provide a lot of more information than an average staff. Overall, recommend Bear Engineering, and strongly recommend Ky!

A huge thanks to Nathan Toothman at BEAR Engineering for deftly handling a sticky client situation with patience and professionalism, upholding a reputation that I've come to trust and rely upon. Nathan performed an inspection on the foundation and crawlspace of a home for sale that I was representing as the listing agent. I contacted him for further evaluation after the home inspection flagged some items. The appointment scheduling was easy, he showed up on time, and he discussed his findings onsite, with the written report following a few days later. All of that was fairly routine. Where I really came to appreciate Nathan's professionalism was in how he responded when a buyer in contract performed a secondary inspection with a lesser-credentialed person who had a significant difference in opinion. This guy recommended a rather expensive fix that seemed biased - as if he was looking for a way to impress us with his knowledge and his determination to reveal a "gotcha." It was very stressful because this had the potential of tanking the sale we worked hard to put together. I also knew there was a chance that relations could become adversarial, which could damage important partnerships down the line. I asked Nathan for a followup consultation with all the parties involved and he was quick to comply. I explained that we wanted to keep emotions at bay and be as neutral and factual as possible. He understood, and stepped into what felt like an interrogation. Although the buyer hammered him with questions, he did a great job of answering calming and clearly, (often having to repeat himself because they refused to listen to reason,) and he avoided getting defensive. In the end, the buyer conceded somewhat, and opted for a 3rd inspection. All turned out fine when the drama settled but I was impressed with Nathan's conduct throughout. I've always held BEAR in high regard, and I do even more so now. Thank you!

As a home buyer, I used Bear Engineering on two separate occasions to understand foundation risks and further investigate findings in the seller's home inspection report. The feedback and data shared was clear and comprehensive, and enabled me to make well informed decisions on the houses. I used their Zoom remote consultation service, which was convenient to schedule and an excellent value as I was able to show the issues and get my questions answered during an open house.

We are so incredibly happy with the support and service that we received from Bear Engineering. We had a very tight contingency period and Bear was able to fit us into their schedule on Day 1. Nathan was kind and direct and Tiffany was always incredibly quick to respond to messages. We feel so confident in our purchase and have a game plan for the improvements we now need to make.
