San Leandro Police Department

Incompetent. Not capable of the simple task of checking a schedule. I and  a handful of my colleagues were required to make an appointment with the PD and the receptionist (who was incredibly rude) put us all on the schedule with no hesitation. The appointments were all scheduled for today aka MLK day. I understand taking the day off but you couldn't even be bothered to check if you'd be open? Waste of time and huge inconvenience for a lot of folks.

They pull their guns on innocent people and do not show up to 911 when there is a real emergency. I have witnessed both firsthand, several times now. Vote the sheriff out, and maybe the council and the mayor! They dont know how to communicate and I have zero trust in them. Sad but true.

I personally get harassed by the SLPD for years. I can tell you about 3-4 times I fear for my safety. When I was in high school and leaving the campus a police officer in his police vehicle pined me between the car and the chain-link fence And thought it was funny . Another one had a self-righteous moment where he wanted to make me feel stupid and told me I didn't even say exactly what he wanted me to say that I was stupid if not he would give me a ticket for parking in an old handicap spot that is no longer handicap because the store change its location. They love giving me citations for everything grass is too long on my front yard I have a boat in my front lawn I have a washing machine visible from the street. Cars on my property with expired tags you name it they go after me. I have terrible Karen's as neighbors so they think they own the police. I had to make a report to the main office about the harassment I received from them. Once I needed their help with the homeless encampment under the Davis freeway overpass and they refused to do anything stating that it's Caltrans problem even though they steal the Cadillac converter's from the cars on the block and go through all of cars at night . Don't get me started with dispatch they are trash on trash first they have an excuse why they don't want to come out or why they can't help. The last few times I called about the homeless people leaving trash on the street nothing was done but my boat that I what is ticketed by the police for being on grass wow what a bunch of pieces of shit so in order for me not to get the ticket I had to give away my boat. But they do nothing to stop the real crime or people committing a crime . I know for a fact I will be seeing the police more often because of this post but I'm willing to risk it because people need to know the truth about them !! We need police reform ASAP

Unreliable, and often times extremely late to calls. I have had some great experiences but theres a continuous issue with their response times, especially emergencies.
