My wife recently passed away, unexpectedly. Santos and Robinson has been her family's "historic" funeral home in San Leandro. The staff, especially but not only Lupita, were professional, easy-to-work with and kind. Everything is difficult and challenging during the preparation for a funeral. To plan and carry out the funeral of one's wife - my beloved of 30 years - was not easy. But Lupita and the staff at Santos and Robinson made it as easy as possible, and the vigil hosted at the home was beautiful and meaningful. Highly recommended.

Everyone at this place was super helpful. My dad expired in India and I brought ashes back and in ordered to scatter the ashes at sea I needed to get a permit. This required quite a bit of coordination and effort from quite a few folks here. They were able to get me the permit even though I did not bring back all of the required paperwork needed. They worked with the county tirelessly and made it proper. I cannot thank them enough.

We lost our baby brother at a young age of 49 one month and 7 days ago. Passing of a loved one is by far the hardest life-altering experience to say the least.  Devastated & confused, we didn't know what the next steps were.  We were referred to Santos Robinson Mortuary by a family friend.  I spoke with Kathy on my initial call, and she was so sweet and patient with all of my questions.  Then we had our first meeting onsite and couldn't have been more at peace knowing our brother was in good hands.  Then we spoke with Kevin, and he gently guided us through the entire process with compassion.  Though it was unbearable, my family and I trusted Kevin and his staff with our brother.  SRM treated our brother with the upmost respect and honored our wishes, including filling all 20 necklace keepsakes!!!   It's imperative to have a mortuary service treat your loved one with dignity and respect even though they have passed, and that's what SRM did!  We are grateful and thankful for your genuine love and compassion you showed us.  Thank you, Kevin, Kathy, Janine and all staff for your services.Sincerely,Sisters - Julie, Irene, Soni Mom - DiannaSon's - Alex & Teo

My experience with Santos -Robinson was so horrible, I am embarrassed and ashamed for bringing my father here to get his ashes done. The personnel that made this horrific experience possible was Kevin. Long story short,  they had placed my father's ashes in the wrong urn to start with and they also didnt do my keepsake urn. So when this was address to Kevin, I  was told and demanded to come back another time and that they need to reach Kathy, who wasn't there because she had Covid. Did Kathy have my personal paperwork at her her home? Why did she need to be called. I explained that I was from out of town and that we were notified that our urns were done. Kevin continued to raise his voice at us and told us apparently nothing can be done, and that he just glued the urn 30 mins ago. He didn't cared and that was the attitude my mother and I recieved. My poor grieving mother, was so heartbroken that she was being spoken too in this manner. I went into the lobby to cry my eyes out because of the way we were being treated. Kevin followed after me and continued to raise his voice. I stood up for myself and advise him "excuse my French but this is some f*ck up shyt!! You will not speak to us like that!!" Kevin continued to raise his voice at us that my husband had to step in and asked him to lower his voice and to understand the pain we were in. Kevin yelled back even louder and scared my 6 year old son. My husband had to take my son outside to calm him down.  My son is a child with special needs. He too did not deserved to be yelled at or treated in such manner. Finally, when Kevin decided to fix the situation, next thing I hear is banging.  I walked over to the office and they were banging and hammering away at my father's urn. Trying to break it open like a piggy bank. What i witnessed was the disrespect towards my father's urn and his ashes. Can you imagine the thoughts and feelings that we're racing through me? Heartbreaking and sloppy. For the top dollars we paid, we were receiving bottom of the barrel service. For someone who is employed in this line of work should be compassionate, soft spoken, understanding towards the grieving family, and extremely humble. Kevin was far from that.  He couldn't admit the mistake he made with my father's ashes and the urns. Someone can simply apologize and fix the mistake. He instead wanted to argue with us. All he had to do was look at the paperwork. So then we were told that they didn't have the urn we originally order so we had to settle for one we didn't want. Then when I recieved my keepsake urn, it was covered in crazy glue. Kevin's hands were covered in crazy glue. Then my hands got covered in crazy glue. He gave it to me as if it was a kindergarten arts and craft project covered in glue. You would think when a funeral home hands over the urn, it would be polished nicely and placed in a keepsake bag to avoid scratches. Our bigger urn as well was handed over with crazy glue and tape attached. So tacky !!Obviously this business has no respect for the living nor the dead. When I searched Santos Robinson online, Kevin is the manager of the funeral home. His parents own the business.  Wow!! Little did I know , the personnel that was rude to us is the owners' son. Someone who has over 20 years of experience. I hope his parents gives him a lesson about compassion and humility because if not this business will drown. Give him some lessons in professionalism and how to speak properly.  I will make sure to share this story on and off social media. No one should ever experience  what we went through.  This experience took a toll on my family this yesterday morning. We are still saddened and upset of the way we were treated. Nothing will ever compensate for the way we were disrespected.
