Gary helped me and my husband through the process of purchasing our retirement home. Throughout the whole process he'd give me constant updates of the progress. It didn't take me long to see that he has a lot of experience in the Bay Area and has a great deal of knowledge to offer. What's amazing is that even after closing, when I had issues or questions, he selflessly offered suggestions, and even gave me remodeling ideas. We definitely would use Gary again as our real estate agent. We sold a house that we inherited and Gary was great throughout the sales process. He is very detailed oriented, communicates well and kept us updated as the sale progressed. We sold our San Jose home during the Pandemic. On our first meeting Gary ensured we followed the COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing. Once the house listed, Gary managed the home showing process and ensured that the buying agents were in compliance for COVIC-19 rules. The rules kept changing during the two weeks while the home was on the market and Gary ensured that the showing process was adjusted as needed to stay in compliance. Gary also created a virtual marketing package that included photos, video and 360 view of the rooms of the house; the marketing materials enabled prospective buyers to get a feel for the house without having to physically be at the house. In our initial conversation we discussed our goals for the sale and what we were willing and not willing to do to make the sale. We toured the house together and discussed the potential options and determined the associated boundaries. We agreed on a list of potential items that would be considered. Gary arranged for quotes from a contractor on the few items that we were considering; we discussed each item and made decisions on the associated cost and determined which items were worth doing (i.e. Cost/Benefit). Gary coordinated with the contractor to complete the items we decided to have done. Gary made setting the sales price as easy as it could be. He suggested a price range and shared all the available comps; I was able to use the comps to evaluate the range that Gary suggested. Gary also reached out to other realtors to get their thoughts on the asking price. Once we reviewed the data, we discussed the market, our approach and settled on our listing price. We ultimately accepted an offer which was $6,000 above the asking price; Gary was right on the money on setting a realistic price. We were very happy! We no longer lived in the area and Gary was great on handling the miscellaneous activities as they came up. Gary coordinated the home and termite inspections. He also followed up with the buying agent, title company and buyers mortgage company to ensure the transaction stayed on track. I really appreciated Garys help and he went above and beyond our expectations. If you need a real estate agent, I highly recommend Gary Sassmannn!
