The location is great, very close to a lot of night life, bars, and restaurants. The flip side to this is that it is very loud outside with a lot of people crowded around the front entrance, next to the Mosaic restaurant that is part of the building. When I was here, there were a lot of people smoking weed around the front door that I had to navigate my way through to get into/out of the hotel. This wasn't a big bother for me, but probably not ideal for anyone that is visiting with family/kids. Regarding the room: the room was clean and tidy, though I believe it was the smallest room that I have ever stayed in at a Marriot hotel. If staying for an extended period, it will may end up feeling a bit cramped. The staff were reasonably polite, though one major issue that I had is that I got double charged for the $39 parking, when it was just me and my one vehicle for 1 night. In my personal opinion, invoicing/billing issues such as this are unacceptable. The staff got this resolved after a 30 minute stop at the front desk, though for anyone that does not check their invoice after their stay, you may be getting charged for services you did not use, want, or ask for. Ultimately, I was happy with my 1 night stay, mainly because of the location, however next time I am in the area I will definitely be staying at a different marriot property nearby, and not choose the Four Points at my first choice. I would return here, however, if it were the last Marriot option nearby and everyone else was booked up. Rooms: The rooms are very small and claustrophobic, though very neat and tidy. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, though I still got a good night sleep. Nearby activities: Walking distance to bars, restaurants, night clubs, and the performing arts center Noteworthy details: Paid parking for $39/night

Stayed Thursday to Monday, so included the weekend period, which is normally the busiest times. VTA train noise is mostly noticeable in the early morning, it is not excess, and I mostly ignored it after a couple of days. Rooms: Rooms are compact, however have all the expected facilities. Walkability: Hotel is centrally located, VTA stop close by. Food & drinks: Onsite restaurant bar can get busy. Plenty of other close by restaurants and Santa Clara St is only a couple blocks away with plenty of bars.
