I was a client of Cbiz for several years as they managed my firm’s (now former firm) 401k program. My former firm was recently acquired by an another bank, so they needed to end the plan with cbiz and transfer assets in the accounts to other institutions as dictated by the plan participants. It took a very long time. My rep in their Phoenix office, Jim Lemon, was quite unresponsive to my in queries, typically I had to send at least two follow up messages to get a response. After being told my funds would be sent to me via check to deposit in my new individual 401k imminently, I learned that the funds had been removed from my Schwab account, and basically sat in limbo for two weeks, while not accruing any interest. This is an account in excess of $500k, not a small sum. Jim Lemon was out of the office and did not get back to my increasingly concerned emails. I contacted cbiz management to see if they could assist, no response. Jim Lemon finally got back to me after a few days, only to insult and castigate me for contacting his managers to try and find out where my monies were. I eventually received my check after quite a delay, and no one from management has ever bothered to respond to my repeated queries. Zero customer service, and very unprofessional behavior. Stay far away from them.
