image I have worked with Richard for 8 years and would highly recommend him for his professionalism, experience, and holistic approach to treatment. He cares deeply about his clients and will go above and beyond to meet the needs of child and parent. The physical space he's created at Social Interventions provides a fun way to engage with kids and families. Check out Social Interventions and Richard King to meet your family's challenges.

image Richard and Nicole are awesome! My son has weekly social skills group here and is always excited to go. They've really structured it well for autistic and ADHD kiddos. The kids have a chance to play together first, then they cover a relevant topic that I've felt have been spot on. The social skills group my son was in had the below summer curriculum. Highly recommend.Week 1: Introductions to summer friends; transitioning from academics to summer and recreational time.Week 2: Adapting to a new schedule, meeting new people dealing with socially anxious feelings.Week 3:  Making new friends, building on conversations and common interests.Week 4: Dealing with difficult behaviors of others, navigating non-preferred peers and using assertive language.Week 5:  Mindfulness, enjoying the summer/vacation moments, allowing my body and brain to relax from the academic year.Week 6: Balancing screen time and activities at home, dealing with unstructured time, and tolerating boring moments. Week 7: Hanging on to new friends from camp, getting contact info, making playdates, and deepening connections. Week 8: Problem-solving peer and family conflicts, handling difficult moments in relationships, moving beyond the hurt, and returning to baseline communication. Week 9: Goodbye to summer, transitioning back to school, and using what we have learned!

image Richard has worked with our son and family for many years. As wenavigate the complexities of AHDH and adolescence, he has been aninvaluable source of support. ADHD can be very challenging for families and working with Richard for Individual and Family therapy, hegave us the tools to understand ADHD and the practical parentingskills and strategies to support our son. Our son grew to know himselfand develop skills which helped him to gain successful social, academic and personal skills. Besides the individual therapy, our sonparticipated in a teen boy group that had a very positive outcome onhis social functioning. Richard's extensive experience, holistic, thoughtful, compassionate and caring approach was accessible and engaging. Working with Richard has been a critical support in raisinga child with AdHD; for us as parents, for our son's development andsuccesses and our family as a community. We are grateful for his workwith us everyday!

image I met Richard King over a year ago when my son was referred to KidSpace for weekly social skills playgroups (diagnosis of sensory processing disorder and more recently ASD). From the very 1st meeting, Richard listened to my concerns and asked questions that showed he understood (and cared about) the challenges both at home and at school. His approach is empathetic, warm, kind and tactful all mixed in with a great sense of humor. After each series of sessions with Richard, we met to discuss progress and what my son still needs help with (or to work on) and seeing the progress that has already been made with anxiety, mood swings, coping with peer relationships etc. made me hesitant to skip a series of sessions for the Summer (financial reasons as well as planned vacation). However, Richard reassured me that a 'break' would not undo any good that had been done (which speaks volumes about his priority not being revenue), offering individual sessions if needed instead. We start back to sessions with Richard and his phenomenal team later this month in his new space at Social Interventions and to see my son not just tolerate going, but excited to go, just about sums it up. I would highly recommend Richard and his team to any family trying to help a child with anxiety or social interactions, he has made the world of difference to our family and is one of my most trusted resources for my son's continued progress.
