They're gatekeepers despite insisting that's not what they do. These people hate trans women to a degree that I've haven't seen before, even emoung mental health professionals. Do not believe them when they say they it will take just one session to get a letter for vaginoplasty, they will question whether surgery would actually help you with being dysphoric (uhhhh what?) and bring you back in three or four times to bill your insurance more. I walked out after the second session at which point I had spent two and a half hours talking extensively about my childhood, my feelings, my life right now, and even how I screw (they wouldn't continue with the appointment until I talked about my sex life. After those two sessions with two different phychologists present they told me they "didn't know enough about me" even after being more honest with them than I would my own mother. They also said I would need "at least one more session, if we give you authorization for surgery at all"
If you're trans PLEASE find somewhere else, these people made me feel so much more suicidal than Ive felt in a very long time.
